Hi, I'm Robert Twaddell, a theatre performer, director and educator based in the DFW area. Offstage, you'll find me scaling rock walls, playing folk music on my guitar, baking sourdough bread, hiking, contact juggling, or lost in an epic sci-fi novel. (Ubik, Dune, and Ender’s Game are some favorites.) My passion for theatre stems from my love for challenging social norms, and experiencing heightened relationships. I have no shame in how nerdy I am about playing pretend.

I firmly believe that if we want to grow, we must remain students all our life (a lesson I learned from my dad). I began my education with an Associate's Certificate from Kim Dawson Conservatory. While I learned so much from my time at KD, I wanted more. As of May 10th 2024, I will hold a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Texas at Arlington.

As a teacher, I empower students by building their confidence while developing their artistic skills. I believe it is important to maintain a healthy perspective and balance while training. My approach focuses on asking direct, intentional questions that lead performers to exciting, authentic, and vulnerable art. Through this process, I work to instill a sense of fun, pride, and respect for each project.
